Job Description

We are seeking a candidate who has recent and relevant experience in all areas of public practice that can be applied to this role. A strong familiarity and experience with many software applications such as Xero, QBO, Plooto, Microsoft Power BI, etc.

 

Responsibilities/ About the Position

· Research, develop, and tailor financial ERPs/Tech stacks to create a financial back-end that is efficient and robust. Willingness to learn and adapt is a huge asset!

· Work both independently and in a team environment to advise corporations, and not-for-profit organizations as a virtual CFO with a wide range of tax, assurance, and compliance issues.

· Manage and work within a business unit of client relationship management in order to enhance the client journey.

· Flexible work environment and in-house Gym.

· Ability to analyze and review financial statements, and tax returns for engagements for clients in a variety of industry segments.

· Build effective working relationships with clients and co-workers, and actively participate in business development through community involvement.

· Completion of additional ad-hoc administrative duties or assignments as required.

· Developing and maintaining relationships with clients.

 

Qualifications

· Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) designation

· 3 – 5 years of public practice with relevant accounting experience

· Strong software experience with financial and mobile applications

Job Description

We are seeking a candidate who has recent and relevant experience in all areas of public practice; including, notice to reader engagements, reviews, audits, personal tax, corporate tax and consulting. You will be involved in all aspects of the firm.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist with external audits, both independently and in a team environment
  • Work both independently and in a team environment to assist individuals, corporations, and not-for-profit organizations with a wide range of tax, assurance, and compliance engagements.
  • Analyzing and preparing personal, trust, corporate tax, GST, T4, T5, and other special returns including CRA audit and support requests.
  • Provide support to clients on general questions regarding accounting, taxations, operations, and financial accounting issues.
  • In conjunction with and under the supervision of management, responsible for completion of all aspects of the engagement.
  • Ability to prepare, complete and review working papers, financial statements, and tax returns for all types of engagements – personal and corporate, according to Firm and regulatory standards for clients in a variety of industry segments.
  • Build effective working relationships with clients and co-workers, and actively participate in business development through community involvement.
  • Completion of additional ad-hoc administrative duties or assignments as required.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with clients.
 

Qualifications

  • Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) designation, or nearing completion
  • 3 – 5 years of public practice with relevant auditing experience
  • CaseWare software experience is REQUIRED for this role
  • Good computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft office
  • Experience using accounting and tax software (Xero, QuickBooks, TaxPrep) would be considered an asset
